Toyota Prius Plug-In Hybrid Waterproof Seat Covers

Two of our materials are genuinely waterproof: CR-grade neoprene and Ballistic nylon. Both are non-perforated, so water beads up and rolls off instead of soaking through to the seat below. Available in custom, semi-custom, and universal EasyFit fits for most vehicles, with free shipping on orders over $199.99.

Waterproof vs. Water-Resistant

The terms get used interchangeably online, so here's how we draw the line. Waterproof means the cover itself will not let liquid seep through — spills sit on the surface until you wipe them up. That's our neoprene and Ballistic covers. Water-resistant materials like leatherette repel light spills and wipe clean, but aren't built to hold standing liquid.

One note on honesty: no slip-on cover seals the seat completely. Liquid can still reach the seat around the edges, through headrest post openings, or through seat-belt cutouts. For a wet dog, a soaked wetsuit, or a leaking sippy cup, waterproof covers do the job — just don't expect a bathtub.

Neoprene or Ballistic?

Neoprene — Waterproof and Comfortable

  • Genuine CR-grade neoprene, the same synthetic rubber used in high-end wetsuits — not "neo-supreme" or "neotex," which are not real neoprene and may not be waterproof.
  • Four layers: nylon Lycra face, CR-grade neoprene, ¼" memory foam, and a soft felt backing.
  • The nylon Lycra outer layer moderates temperature — cooler in summer, cozier in winter — and wipes clean with mild soap and water.
  • Stretches for a refined fit, and can be removed and hand-washed for a deeper clean.
  • Expected lifespan of up to 10 years.

Ballistic Nylon — Waterproof and Nearly Indestructible

  • Rugged, canvas-like tactical-grade nylon with a Scotchgard-like waterproof treatment: water beads up and rolls off.
  • Three layers: Ballistic nylon face, ¼" memory foam, and a soft felt backing.
  • Abrasion resistant — the number one choice of pet owners, because it stands up to toenail scratches and pet accidents wipe right up.
  • Resists punctures from sharp objects and tools; rugged 800 denier nylon straps and buckles hold the seat bottom in place.
  • Expected lifespan of 10+ years — likely the last seat covers you'll ever buy.

Both block UV rays, stop dye transfer from blue jeans, resist stains, fire and burns, and work with heated seats.

Recommended For

  • Dog owners — see our dog seat covers and back seat covers for full rear-bench coverage.
  • Surfers, swimmers, and gym regulars who get in the car wet or sweaty.
  • Parents dealing with spilled bottles, sippy cups, and car seats that dent upholstery.
  • Tradespeople and commercial fleets that need protection against mud, grease, and constant in-and-out wear.
  • Commuters who eat and drink on the road.

Do Waterproof Covers Fit My Vehicle?

Use the Search By Vehicle tool above to see only the waterproof covers patterned for your seats — Ford, Toyota, Jeep, Ram, Tesla, and 80-plus other makes. Semi-custom and ExactFit covers suit most low-back bucket seats with adjustable headrests; they are not compatible with integrated (non-adjustable) headrests, seat belts built into the backrest, or captain's chairs. For captain's chairs and middle-row buckets, use EasyFit Neoprene or seat bottom covers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are waterproof seat covers really waterproof?

Yes — our neoprene and Ballistic covers are non-perforated and will not allow seepage through the material to the seat below. Liquid can still get in around the cover's edges and openings, so wipe up spills promptly.

Are they safe with side airbags?

Yes. All AutoHQ covers are 100% seat side airbag compatible, using velcro, breakaway stitching, or slots that let the airbag deploy freely. Always select the pattern matched to your exact vehicle.

How do I clean them?

Wipe down with a damp cloth or mild soap. Neoprene covers can also be removed and sprayed down or hand-washed with a mild detergent.

How long does installation take?

Semi-custom and ExactFit covers take about 20–30 minutes per cover, with no tools and no need to remove seats or headrests. EasyFit covers slip on in minutes. Full installation instructions and videos are available.

Can I order just one row?

Yes. Front covers are sold as a pair per row, rear rows are ordered separately, and EasyFit covers are sold as singles. Single seat covers are also available.

What about shipping, returns, and warranty?

Allow 3–4 business days for processing; all orders ship from Southern California. Free shipping over $199.99, returnable for 30 days from shipment, and covered by a 1 year warranty against defects in workmanship and materials.
