Depending on the cover, inside the backrest portion and along the side facing the outside of the vehicle, we use either velcro, break-away straps or openings and slots that allow free movement of seat side airbags in the event of deployment. See our seat side airbag deployment safety test video →

Re-check your child seat after installing covers
A seat cover installs on the seat itself, around your child seat's belt path. After it is on, reinstall the child seat and tug-test it at the belt path — and follow your child seat manufacturer's manual, which is always the final word on what may sit between the child seat and your upholstery. If you have questions about your vehicle or seat type, call or text us before ordering; we would rather talk it through first.

Frequently asked questions
Yes — that is exactly what the padding is for. Our neoprene, ballistic, leatherette and air mesh covers are lined with ¼" foam padding that protects seats from indentations, such as from a baby's car seat. Neoprene adds rubber-like cushioning on top of the foam.
They do if the cover includes the rear panel of the backrest. Most Semi-Custom covers have a panel over the back of the backrest with a built-in map pocket, so shoes hit the cover instead of your upholstery. EasyFit and Wrap and Insert covers leave that area open or only partially strapped, and most Custom fit covers leave the back open unless a back pocket is added. Call or text us with your year, make and model and we will confirm what a given cover includes.
Neoprene for superior waterproof protection, or ballistic if you also want maximum toughness. Pre-made leatherette has micro-perforated center inserts and is not entirely waterproof, but we can replace them with solid leatherette on request, and our custom fit leatherette has no perforations at all.
No. All our seat covers are fully seat side airbag compatible. Inside the backrest and along the outboard side we use velcro, break-away straps or openings and slots that let the airbag deploy freely. Watch the deployment safety test video.
Yes. Back row and middle row covers are sold on their own and are all available in matching front seat covers later. Seat bottom covers protect just the cushion, and EasyFit covers are sold as singles. Note that captain's chairs are currently only available in Custom fit, and not all covers are available for 2nd row, 3rd row and back seats.
Neoprene wipes down; for deeper cleaning it can be removed from the vehicle and sprayed down or hand washed with a mild detergent. Ballistic spills bead up and wipe away. Leatherette wipes clean with a damp cloth. We do not recommend machine washing.
Yes. Neoprene, ballistic and leatherette are all compatible with heated seats. If your seats are also air conditioned, micro-perforated leatherette or suede inserts, and our air mesh material, allow air flow through.
